Kimberly has more than 20 years experience leading human resource professionals in the private sector, public sector and nonprofit environment. She is currently the Chief Human Resource Officer for the City of Jacksonville, North Carolina and an instructor in the Master’s Program at Webster University at Marine Corps Base Camp Lejeune. Her passion for assisting military service members, began with serving as a volunteer with Virginia Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (VaESGR) as Regional Chair and later as State Director for their Employment Initiative Program (EIP). She also initiated the Virginia Values Veterans (V-3) program, a statewide initiative to ensure employment of our service men and women.
James “J.R.” Gorham serves as Director of Special Projects for the N.C. Department of Public Safety. In this leadership role, Gorham provides oversight to the N.C. Center for Safer Schools, and directs Department initiatives involving military affairs and suicide prevention. Previous roles at DPS include The Special Assistant to the Secretary of Public Safety, Frank Perry; Executive Officer for the Division of Adult Correction and Juvenile Justice; and Commissioner of Juvenile Justice prior to the Division’s consolidation with Adult Correction in September 2013.
