Kurt Hanson

Kurt Hanson is Founder and CEO of AccuRadio and is Publisher and Founding Editor of the daily web-based newsletter called “RAIN: Radio And Internet News” (www.rainnews.com). RAIN also hosts several conferences globally each year on the subject of Internet radio and online audio. With his experience Kurt is widely recognized as one of the world’s leading experts in the field of online radio.

Prior to launching RAIN and AccuRadio, Kurt founded and lead Strategic Media Research (SMR), a market research firm respected throughout the radio industry for its program of professional call-out music research and for its “AccuRatings” product. Kurt built Strategic Media Research into a $10 million business.

It probably won’t surprise you that while in high school, college, and grad school, Kurt worked at various AM/FM radio stations, including WOKY/ Milwaukee, WLS/Chicago, WDAI/Chicago, and WLUP/Chicago.

Kurt holds a B.A. and an M.B.A. from the University of Chicago.

Paul Maloney

My second guest Paul Maloney is Executive Vice President of Music Programming for AccuRadio and serves as editor and journalist for the Radio and Internet Newsletter. He joined AccuRadio in 2000 after 10 years in broadcast radio in several small and medium Midwestern markets.

Paul holds a B.S. in Broadcast Journalism from the University of Illinois, and splits his time between Chicago and New Orleans.
