To achieve your Strategic Objective, it takes strong operational and tactical plans and actions.
Having a strategic objective and a vision isn't enough. You have to have a plan that is executable. Then you have to commit to taking action and making the plan happen and to move your organization forward toward your vision.
Structuring Your Business for Success
The day-to-day business is how you move your organization ahead. It requires dealing with the "fires" and the routine of transacting business. It also means having the right people in the right roles doing the right things. It also means providing them with the resources and tools to get things done.
Your business will achieve the level of success it is designed to deliver. If the design doesn't match the vision, if the priorities do not align the organization to perform on the critical tasks and deliverables, then your organization will fall short of its objective(s).
Getting Tactical and Practical
The day-to-day decisions and activities determine what gets done and IF those things move you ahead or hold you back. It is critical to identify what needs to happen to reach your objective. This is accomplished by understanding the role of tactics and operational goals in establishing near term milestones, deliverables, and guidelines for decision-making that will keep you on the strategic path to your destination.
