Workshops provide educational and learning opportunities on key concepts.

Workshops are a complementary tool to project consulting and other services.  Workshops are a means of educating participants on the elements of a business "capability" that is critical to success in an environment that facilitates learning and that exposes participants to new concepts and ideas in a "protected" environment.

Workshops are opportunities to assimilate information prior to adaptation, adoption, and implementation.

Workshops tend to be about the common elements that all businesses share.  They do not adapt the information provided to the specifics of any one entity.  Instead they provide a consistent framework or structure that becomes a common "language" that workshop participants share.  The language provides a means for facilitating discussion and learning.  Workshops (as opposed to seminars) are also intended to combine implementation with learning. Implementation is generally limited to exercises and scenarios that are worked on in groups to drive home the key learning points.

Workshops develop skills.

Workshops (on-site and off-site) provided by F.O.C.U.S. Resources include:

  • The Strategic Business Series
    • Strategic Planning - The Process and the Cycle (12 month once per month series)
    • Strategic Visibility
  • Grant Management
  • Grant Accounting
  • On-shoring:  Doing Business in the United States
  • Financial Management
  • Budgets, Forecasts, and Projections
  • Angels and Other Investors: Seeking Funding for Your Business

 Tele-seminars and Tele-workshops

Often the costs (time and travel expenses) of going to an off-site event are more than you can spare.  Having the option to participate in seminars means making a trade-off that a business can't afford, so our tele-seminars and tele-workshops are an alternative that save time and dollars.

FOCUS Tele-seminar and Tele-workshops are based upon the same content as our "regular" seminars and workshops.  The difference lies in how that content is delivered.  Our tele-programs are scheduled as a series of 1 or 1 1/2 hour sessions spaced over a few weeks or months (depending upon the topic).  Course materials are provided via e-mail and our website for each session.  The course work is then delivered via teleconference.

Participants still get to ask questions during the conference via e-mail or on the telephone.  Reminders, information, and action items continue to flow to participants between sessions.

Because it's a teleseminar, you enjoy the following benefits:

  • No travel costs
  • No time out of the office
  • Unlimited participants from your organization per phone line
  • Opportunity to ask questions
  • Interaction with other participants
  • Information shared in smaller segments making it easier to assimilate and implement
